TRAVEL TO ANTWERP

Many ways lead to Antwerp, Europe's gay harbour. 

Antwerp’s close proximity to Holland, France and Germany and with direct flights from London City to Antwerp or a 25 minute train journey from Brussels makes Antwerp also an easily accessible city and one of Europe’s gay hotspots.

TRAVEL BY CAR

Coming from

AMSTERDAM / UTRECHT / DEN HAAG / BREDA
From Breda take the A19 straight to Antwerp.coming from

PARIS

From Paris take the A1 to 'Rijsel'. After 'Combles' take the A2 in the directions of 'Bergen/Mons'. In 'Mons/Bergen' follow directions to Brussel on the E19. On the R0, ring around Brussels, follow Antwerp at the intersection 'Machelen'. Travel further on the A1/E19 until you reach your destination.

coming from

COLOGNE / AACHEN 

From Cologne take the A4/E314 and travel past Aachen. Drive always straight on through a small part of Holland into Belgium on the A2/E314. At the Intersection 'Lummen', follow Antwerp over the E313.
Travel further until you reach your destination.

coming from

DUISBURG / EINDHOVEN

From Duisburg take the A40/E34 to Venlo at the Dutch border. Travel further on over the A67/E34 past Eindhoven. From the Belgian border you travel further on the A21/E34 until you reach the intersection with the E313. Just drive straight on until you reach Antwerp.

PARK YOUR CAR

For most parking facilities in Antwerp a fee is to be paid. Parking in the city centre is of course more expensive then arround it.

Make sure to check whether your hotel provides (free) parking space.

GETTING THERE

BY CAR

Waagnatie / Hangar 29 is located adjacent to the main thoroughfares to Antwerp, and is also easily accessible by public transport. The public parking around the building is free.

coming from direction Amsterdam - Breda.

From the main city ring (R1 / A1 / E19) take exit 1 'Merksem - Antwerpen centrum'. Turn right (Groenendaallaan) and cross the intersection. Follow the wining road (Groenendaallaan - Siberiastraat - Mosselstraat - Sloepenstraat - Rijnkaai) untill you reach your destination on Rijnkaai 150.

coming from direction Paris - Brussels - Gent - Brugge

From the main city ring (R1 / A1 / E34) take exit 5a 'Het Zuid' (Antwerpen Centrum - Hoboken). Follow 'Hoboken - Singel' and turn left at the first traffic lights (Singel - Brusselstraat - Bolivarplaats - Jan Van Gentstraat - Namenstraat). At the T-junction turn right. Follow the road parallel to the river for 3 km untill you reach Rijnkaai 150.

The price one way from Central Station to Darklands is about € 8,50 (October 2012). Tip: share a taxi!

BY PUBLIC TRANSPORT

NEAREST BUS STOPS

Darklands can easily be visited by bus. Line 17 (UZA - Centraal Station - Rijnkaai) will bring you right in front of the festival. You can take line 17 at Central Station, Franklin Rooseveltplaats and several other stops. Get off at the last stop: 'Rijnkaai'.

Frequency on Saturday & Sunday: every 15 minutes.
Last bus back on Saturday: 00.09h
Last bus back on Sunday: 21:39h
